Silent Planet/Invent Animate

The Bloom In Heaven Tour Blossomed at The Regent

Music really does heal the soul. Even in the most difficult of times you can always count on music and the people it brings to make any situation better. That’s what this tour is doing and the message Invent Animate and Silent Planet brought is truly special in this case.

Celebrating the release of their collab EP Bloom In Heaven,Invent Animate and Silent Planet also played in their entirety Heavener and SUPERBLOOM. They brought Swedish band Allt and Pittsburgh natives 156/SIlence out on tour with them.

This was the first time Allt was performing in the states and they did not disappoint whatsoever. The way I can describe their sound makes me think if Invent Animate and thrown had a baby it would be Allt. With the melodic guitars and vocals with the heaviness from the bass and drums that you get from progressive metalcore bands, but what adds that depth and darkness to their sound is those growls and screams from lead singer Robin Malmgren. They played songs from their recent release From The New World which is a perfect introduction to the band and has been on repeat since then.

I got a little taste of what 156/Silence energy when they opened for Signs of the Swarm last year, so I was super excited getting to see a long set. Prior to the tour starting, the band had suffered a tragic loss with band member Lukas Booker passing away suddenly. The band was encouraged and given the okay by everyone on the tour to have a chance to grieve the loss, but 156 felt that Lukas would want them to continue on and spread his love for music to everyone. The entire tour was dedicated to Lukas which only made their performance even more raw and special. Truly amazed with this band and their dedication and professionalism to their craft and it just made hearing all those breakdowns even better.

Now since this is a co-headlining tour Invent Animate and Silent Planet switch off on who closes the night out. This night we had Silent Planet perform first and Invent closed it out. Silent Planet always has the best of energy when performing. So getting to hear Superbloom in its entirety was an experience to not forget. Technically this was their hometown show since the band is from Azusa so the crowd was here for Silent Planet. Besides playing songs off of SUPERBLOOM like “Offworlder”, “Antimatter”, “Anunnaki”, and the title track, we also got to hear collab track with Invent Animate “Return to One”, single “Mindframe” and “Trilogy”. The energy the band brings definitely made me reconsider the kind of shoes I wore for the show.

It might have been a hometown show for Silent Planet, but Invent Animate closing out the show probably blew the roof off the venue. Just sitting down on the steps of the venue, I can feel them shaking from how much movement was going down in the pit. Invent Animate always has such a beautiful performance with the visuals they have and how melodic but heavy their music it made the experience magical. Hearing songs like “False Meridian”, “Without a Whisper”, “Shade Astray”, “Emberglow” and “Heavener” off the deluxe version of Heavener was filling the small space with so much energy that they slowly grew that pit. Garrett of SIlent Planet joined the band in performing “All the Light Is Gone” which was such a cool thing to see.

Overall this sold out show blossomed into something amazing and getting to see how music can truly heal the soul is such a magical experience. Catch the remaining dates of this tour and you will not be disappointed.
