Sleep Theory – The Afterglow Tour at House of Blues Anaheim, 5/30/2025
Sleep Theory’s Afterglow Tour hit the House of Blues Anaheim with a packed crowd ready for their unique blend of heavy metalcore, industrial vibes, and smooth R&B influences. With a lineup full of diverse openers, the night promised variety and it delivered.

The show opened with Stray View, (gallery) a new band led by former Crown the Empire vocalist Dave Escamilla. They came out heavy and full of raw energy, already sounding tight despite being just a year old.

Next up, Oxymorrons (gallery) surprised with their upbeat, happy energy that got the crowd moving, especially when they jumped into the audience. Their mix of hip hop and rock brought a fun contrast to the night.

Then Nevertel (gallery) took the stage, blending metalcore, EDM, and hip hop in a fresh, intense way. Their aggressive riffs paired with rap vocals added a modern edge that fit perfectly.

But the night belonged to Sleep Theory.

This four-piece delivered a sound hard to pin down. Part octanecore, part industrial metalcore with melodic hooks and R&B flavors mixed in. Cullen Moore’s silky-smooth voice carried power and emotion, cutting through the heavy bounce of their music. The Pruitt brothers, Ben and Daniel on drums and guitar, with Paolo Vergara on bass, kept everything tight and driving.

They opened with “Fallout” and kept the energy rolling all night. Highlights included the haunting “Parasite,” the heavy but catchy “Afterglow,” and a standout cover of *NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” that had everyone singing along. Sleep Theory even invited Nevertel back onstage for a metalcore mashup of “Break the Silence,” showing off their connection and range.

Their blend of hard riffs and smooth melodies made for a thrilling show. By the time they closed with “Numb Static,” the crowd was elated.

Sleep Theory proved they are more than just a tour headliner. They are carving their own path with a fresh, heavy sound that is ready for what is next.
