Architects Tear Through House of Blues Anaheim on North American Tour 2025

The sold-out House of Blues Anaheim exploded the moment doors opened. After six long years without a proper North American headlining tour, Architects returned with a vengeance, and the crowd was ready for every second. Having seen them at Mayhem Festival in 2024, I knew I had to catch them on their own tour and cover the show. With Holywatr and Erra opening, the stage was set for a night of chaos.

Holywatr (gallery) kicked things off with their mix of alternative metal, emo, and shoegaze. Once a solo project, Holywatr has grown into a tight trio with Krom on guitar and Drayke on drums, and they hit hard from the first note. Tracks like “Lip Service” and “Nail Polish” brought intensity, while “My Mom’s in There!” delivered the kind of chaos the crowd was craving. Holy’s vocals cut through the distortion and gave a raw vibe that had everyone locked in.

Erra (gallery) followed, bringing a blast of progressive metalcore that amped up the energy in the room. JT Cavey’s guttural screams smashed with Jesse Cash’s clean vocals, creating a push-and-pull that grabbed attention immediately. “Snowblood” opened the set with crushing riffs and tight djent grooves.

Clint Tustin and Jesse traded guitar lines effortlessly, while Alex Ballew’s drums and Connor Hesse’s bass drove every song. Tracks like “Scorpion Hymn” and “Gungrave” had the crowd moving and screaming, proving why Erra is a standout in modern metalcore.

Finally, Architects took over, and the crowd lost it. Sam Carter’s vocals dominated the stage, while Dan Searle’s drumming was absolute destruction. Adam Christianson’s riffage and Ali Dean’s bass built a wall of sound that shook the venue.

The setlist hit hard, blending new tracks like “Seeing Red” and “Whiplash” with classics such as “Doomsday” and “Gone With the Wind”.

The pit raged, fists were raised, and by the time they closed with “Animals”, the room felt completely obliterated.

Architects made the wait worthwhile. Every song, every scream, and every riff was exactly what fans needed, making six long years feel like they passed in an instant. But seriously, don’t make us wait another six years to experience this again.
