Sleigh Bells at Belly Up
The last time I saw Sleigh Bells was 7 years and a global pandemic ago. So as a fan, I’ve been chomping at the bit to see former Poison The Well guitarist Derek E. Miller and life of any damn party, Alexis Krauss, again.
During a weekend where many of their contemporaries of the 2010’s indie sleaze and indie rock alike were playing 2+ hours north at Just Like Heaven, Sleigh Bells were making their US Tour stop in Del Mar, California at The Belly Up Tavern right off the Pacific Coast.

Krauss and Miller have perfected their mix of pure guitar filth that will rattle around your insides and a party atmosphere that feels like you’re in the club dancing every ounce of liquid out of your body.
The duo and their two additional party making touring members started off with “Badly” off their 2025 album Bunky Becky Birthday Boy followed by 2010’s “Infinity Guitars” to the true delight of those of us they’ve been here the last 15+ years.

Sleigh Bells played a career spanning set where you’ve seen the gradual changes of their sound but always remaining themselves. Including the track “A/B Machines” which I personally bought on iTunes and any time I’d connect my phone to my car for close to a decade, that song would loudly play. Every. Single. Time.
Love you, Sleigh Bells. Love ya every day.
