Dropout Kings Vocalist Adam Ramey Has Passed Away

Today is a sad day in the music scene. Vocalist Adam Ramey of the Arizona band Dropout Kings has tragically passed away from suicide yesterday a few days before his 32nd birthday. The news comes early this morning from the band posting on their social media the news that Ramey had passed away.

The band posted a tribute post on their social media:

Life comes at you in ways you can never predict. The rollercoaster of chasing your dreams and building with your brothers and friends is a joy few get to know in the most genuine sense and one we were beyond blessed to experience with one another as Dropout Kings. Even still, we cannot always expect things to go the way we dream nor can we understand just how special each moment with our friends and family are until those moments are memories. With the heaviest hearts, we share that our brother, Adam Ramey has passed away. His passion, energy, and love for music shaped Dropout Kings and touched countless lives. We're devastated to say the least, but Adam's spirit, charisma and energy will not only forever inspire us, but will push us into the future to be the best that we can. We appreciate you all during this time and know he absolutely did as well for all the times we've shared. Thank you for everything, Chip.

Rest in power, Adam. We'll always love you fam.

Dropout Kings was formed by Ramey in 2016 after his previous band The Bad Chapter had broken up the year prior. He had approached previous bandmates Trevor Norgren, Staig Flynn, Rob Sebastian, and Chucky Guzman to form a new band Phoenix Down before officially settling on Dropout Kings in 2017. The band is known for their trap metal sound and are currently signed to Suburban Noize Records.

Many fans and members of the music community have paid their respects to the band including bands like Attila, who they were opening for this summer on Attila’s European tour, and Nerv who were set to open for as well at the end of the month.

Ramey is survived by his wife, Jamie and a son, Jude. His sister in law has set up a GoFundMe to help out with any costs. She had commented that Ramey had taken his own life after a long painful battle with addiction.
