Baddiecore Queens The Pretty Wild Release New Song “Omens”
Baddiecore is the new metal and The Pretty Wild are becoming one of the many faces bringing this to light. Coming off their last release “Button Eyes”, The Pretty Wild are adding a twist to the metal world with a blend of nu-metal and modern day metalcore sound with their new song “Omens”.
I first discovered the band like most people do nowadays, TikTok. Consisting of sisters, Jill and Julia Wylde, The Pretty Wild are rising up in the ranks with their musical style and just recently signed on with label Sumerian Records, who also works with bands like Poppy, Bad Omens, Slaughter to Prevail and many more. Truly one of my favorite releases they’ve done so far with showing the diversity in their genre bending song. “Omens” feels like the type of song that you just vibe out to in the car and just sing along to but then once that breakdown comes you bang your head so hard you will probably proceed to a different route.
The blend of vocals from both women is insane. It is hard to distinguish which vocals are Jill’s and which are Julia’s but I love the versatility they both have when it comes to their screams and growls. By adding those deeper growls in the beginning and then adding fry screams to the breakdown gives a nice depth to the song. The music alone gives you that nu metal vibe with some pop elements but still so heavy with those riffs from the guitars. Plus how can you not love the Siri feature!
The amount of support and growth The Pretty Wild are receiving makes me excited for new music that they are releasing and how strong the women in the scene are becoming. They also have the awesome opportunity to go on tour to support In This Moment along with Wargasm and Kat Von D this summer on the Hell Hath No Fury Tour.
